Hi! My name is Sara May, and I’m the owner and operator of True Nature Media.

I started this company with a mission in mind - to create meaningful, creative, and affordable content for artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by amazing people my whole life - incredible visual artists, passionate musicians, and inspiring business owners. My goal is to create content centred around these brilliant people - photos and videos that do justice to them and their work.

Here’s how it happened:

I studied Film Making at Toronto Metropolitan University (FKA Ryerson). Upon graduating I wanted to find a way to incorporate all of the storytelling and technical skills I learned at school into my life in a way that made sense to me. I never felt that I wanted to be a Hollywood director, or make scripted feature films. What I really loved was making real content, capturing real people doing real things.

Immediately after school, I got a job making corporate videos and taking photos of road maintenance and construction. My favourite part of the job was filming the road maintenance workers. These guys were the salt of the earth; totally genuine, unscripted, and hilarious. It made me realize my passion for capturing honest human connection.

After some long introspection, I decided to follow my vision, and started making content that captured the world around me. Stories like: the farmer putting their heart and soul into their produce; the musician ready to release a powerful new track; the principal who truly cares about their students’ education and happiness. These are the stories I want to tell.

My job is to capture your true nature. Let’s make that happen.
